Accepting that I'm a Luddite and have largely failed in mastering the Bulgarian language but has anybody found an android Bulgarian news app with an English language option. |

Can you be more specific:
Do you want news from Bulgaria or about Bulgaria?
Do you want an app with an English language option for the content or the interface, or both?
Do you want just major news stories or any and all puffery that mentions Bulgaria?
Do you want real English or is the usual "Ingrish" acceptable?
Are you after only free apps?
Personally, I've always found it easy to curb my curiosity about the news while I'm away from the ranch and, at least here in Sofia, there is no shortage of free wi-fi if I'm desperate for a fix when I'm out and about. I reckon that as and when Armageddon arrives my input will be both optional and minimal.
However I'm guessing that just running Google Translate on BG language news sites and/or looking at Novinite/Sofia Globe online would do the trick, unless you're a "When do we want it? Now, now, now!" kind of guy... _________________ Passer sa vie à lutter contre la connerie est le meilleur procédé pour mourir épuisé |

Looking for Bulgarian news like Novite for example. I can readily translate news from Bulgarian sites using Google translate on my laptop but it does not seem to work when using an android devices, ie phones or tablets. I could go round the housed and use the google browser on a phone then log into a news site but I was looking for an instant and convenient one click app. |

I can use chrome plus translate but this means browsing the web through a browser. I was hoping to find a phone app that would take me direct to an Enlish language Bg news channel. Their are several Bg news apps but all the ones I've found are in Bulgarian.
No surprises just wishful thinking. |

I think you may be on a hiding to nothing here: you're more likely to find an app offering English-language news in Bulgarian than the other way round.
You might be able to use the Reuters app, with a bias towards keywords like "Bulgaria", but that won't give you the breadth offered by local news media. Looks like a BG app and a bit (lot?) of language study is the way forward.... _________________ Passer sa vie à lutter contre la connerie est le meilleur procédé pour mourir épuisé |

I'm sure you are right but I will keep a look out, some news media may deside that British luddites and tourists also want to know what is going on locally. |

Why spoil the surprise for them - not to mention that many tourists don't know* where Bulgaria is, even when they're standing in it...
*And probably couldn't care either. _________________ Passer sa vie à lutter contre la connerie est le meilleur procédé pour mourir épuisé |

Not sure if I've missing something, but have you tried www.novinite.com as opposed to www.novinite.bg ?
There is a button in the top corner of novinite.bg which gives you the option of changing to he Englsh version it works perfectly well on my Kindle (I use Chrome) |

Thanks Chris, Novinite is fine on my phone with Chrome. For no real good reason I was trying to find an app that would work direct. So be it.. |
