I've got a UK vehicle that's been stored under my house in BG for a couple of years and next year I plan to put it onto BG plates in Vidin or VT. I can arrange temporary "import " insurance with a BG company and a short term vignette, but obviously, the UK MOT has run out.
In the UK, if you have booked an MOT, it's ok to drive a vehicle to and from the MOT station. Does the same apply in BG or am I going to have it towed there?

Technically it should be towed there - that was the case with both of our old imported bangers. Apparently they will have you for it if you try it in Sofia but I've no idea how it works in other areas; they might be more laid back... Smile

My route to the KAT office is only 12 miles, but unfortunately goes through a big KAT checkpoint for trucks to the West of Vidin. Maybe there's a back roads route that I can find... If all else fails, it shouldn't cost a lot for a BG towtruck.

I've been pulled a couple of times, funnily enough I had work gear on and looked a bit scruffy, never been pulled whilst wearing a nice clean shirt and combed hair Laughing

Funny when I got pulled earlier this week we both had work gear on covered in crap, battered old transit, etc.

Thanks. It sounds cheaper to put it on a car trailer than to get temporary insurance and a vignette and risk a fine for no MOT.
