I thought a thread on food, not just Bulgarian food would be nice, plus it would stop us all drooling on the drinking thread.

So, what are you eating today?

Lunch so far has been homemade chicken noodle soup with ginger and chilli.

I have no idea what's for dinner, even though I'm cooking it. I better get it prepped at least as I'm bratlet sitting in 2 hours.

My tea was shepherds pie and mixed veg, and Apple crumble and custard from yesterday. Too tired to do out else..... Confused

Snap! The Sheperds pie (or really cottage pie as it was beef), is in the oven as we speak, the mixed veg is waiting on the side lines. It may be bannana custard for pudding, or maybe a bannana sponge cake, now where did I put the custard powder (i can't be arsed making custard from scratch.)

Oh yummy--I like fish chowder. Try to get my husband to eat fish, for the protein. He's not keen on it, but humors me, bless him.

Wednesday = sausages. Good choice for this evening as "the workers" in the family are both uncertain of time of coming home. Black Farmers of course. Not them, the sausages. Smile

Chicken, lots and lots of chicken. We went to the local chicken factory shop. They must have had a massive overrun or a cancelled order. They were selling off 1kg packs of chicken wings at 10 pence per pack, the same with the 8 packs of chicken drumsticks and the breaded chicken steaks were 20 pence for a pack of 8 or 10.
Half is in the oven cooking off so I can strip the cooked meat off the bones and freeze in portion sized bags or add to the pasta sauce for dinner. The other half is going to re-packed in zip lock bags and frozen. The plastics packaging just takes up too much room as I only have a small freezer.

Or a lamb lasagne for the Gluten sensitive people.

Thursdays lunch will be chicken soup made with all the lovely stock we got from the marathon chicken cooking session.
