I have a large area of garden which is completely overgrown by weeds.

A friend has offered to put his goats in there to eat the weeds.

There is a coniferous hedge, which I want to keep.

Will the goats eat the conifers? Will they eat the grass and weeds first and then go on to the conifers?

Do we have a consultant goatologist amongst out members?

I strongly advocate eating the goats, especially the kids - delish! Smile

Goats will eat anything within reach, including 'aggressive' plants such as thistles and the like. They have no preference about where they start but just eat what comes into view, so I would suggest that you put up some sort of strong barrier to keep them away from your hedge.

If you have any domestic animals, then be prepared for a possible invasion of ticks and fleas and goats also pong rather a lot as well.
