Hi
We're travelling over the end of next month (24/3/1Cool flying into Bourgas instead of Sofia. Any tips for hotels/restaurants for a couple of nights nearby before we head inland to our place thanks in advance.

Well, first off, you should NOT have to pay more than 15Lv. for a taxi from the airport in Sarafovo into downtown Burgas, but they, like Taxi Drivers all over the world, can try to rip you off if you don't know the going rates.

March is out of season and so, better stay in Burgas in my humble opinion. I always used to use the Hotel Luxor which is a couple of minutes away from the Sea and a few more minutes walk away from the pedestrian centre of Burgas. Costs would be around 60-70Lv. per night including breakfast for a double room, but there are LOADS of cheaper Hotels to be had all year round and perhaps you might be better checking on Booking.com or Trip Advisor etc.

Thanks MW, All booked up now staying at the Grand Via hotel in Burgas for two nights, We booked via Trivago website £27 per night for two people breakfast included Smile. We're hiring a car at the airport so no need to worry about the con artist taxi firms.
Cheers Coxer.

I hope it is as nice as it looks on the pictures albeit, one of the two main pedestrian streets, Bogoridi which leads from the Sea Gardens downtown is a complete mess at the moment as it and other streets have been dug up so they can lay new sewerage and water pipes. They cannot do it during the summer and upset the tourists so, doing it now during winter. MUD everywhere. Wink
