True, a man is getting old as his childhood heroes are not recognized any longer. Every generation produces -and occasionally consumes- the heroes of their own.

Now in my sixties, am still missing the humid environment of their contributions in music, I heard many decades ago.

Me too scasparz. I echo your sentiment. I am also very nostalgic for the music of the 60's.

Scasparz, you'd be amused (or perhaps horrified) to hear the music* that is belted out in my car while cruising the wild streets of Sofia. It may be no more than nostalgia but I'm of the opinion that they really don't know what good music is these days.....

*For example: early Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Moustaki, Brassens, Marinella, Bithikotsis, Kokotas, Vembo, Gounaris, Maya Melaya - and even new kids on the block like Parios and Glykeria Wink

Music is best to be enjoyed rather than be consumed.

There is good music produced our days, suiting most of us personal tastes, however seldom does it make it to the record store fronts, not many are left, aren't they?.

Yet mates it is for every new generation to disregard -or even despise- the music of the previous ones. Our generation did much the same in our times. Again older generations tend to disregard the music of the younger ones. Music is among those which tag a generation.

Whether biased or not, I cannot but agree in that most of the 'premium' contemporary music is rubbish. Does this make me an old fool?
Perhaps.

Independent of that am grateful for spending my Tuesday afternoon graciously.

cheers mates

Now truly one of the Voices in the Sky

Old man, passing by
Tell me what you sing
Though your voice be faint
I am listening

Children with a skipping rope
Tell me what you sing
Play time is nearly gone
The bell's about to ring

Nightingale, hovering high
Harmonize the wind
Darkness, your symphony
I can hear you sing
Of voices in the sky
