I think you should move to Lincs, ZZ - I'll be putting our gaff on the market in the Spring at a bargain price..... Wink

MW, only coffee? Yeah, right. Wink Laughing
In response to your post, it's true there is now a form the seller has to fill in regarding neighbour disputes etc. which is legally binding if one can find the seller after and I wonder how many (if any) are honest about that. I suppose having been lied to all my life, it probably makes me more suspicious than most but that's a different story.
I know/knew the area very well as my Mother lived in very close proximity to both houses.
At the top of the previous page, I said that one house is known to me. I also know the next door neighbour. I don't have any contact details for her so have contacted someone else I know who is going to try and see her to see if she has any information as to why they want to sell, so it looks like you and I are thinking alike on this.

Seedy, a seller's bargain price is usually different to a buyer's bargain price. Wink Laughing

ZZ, it is notionally legally binding, but of course one answers "to the best of my knowledge and belief" - which covers a multitude of sins!

And this will be a bargain, as I can't be ar$ed to keep forking out council tax, insurance etc for years on end when I don't go there any more; I'm thinking of putting it on the market for about £30k less than I paid about 15 years (or more) ago BUT it is in a very small village, so probably wouldn't suit you Wink It's a lovely house and a great location though....

Village I like, I grew up in one and live in one now. Wink I also like modern, kitchen, bathroom etc.
Unfortunately, I am getting older and as I don't drive, I need supermarkets etc. within a short distance. Sounds like that may not be the case.

All the supermarkets are just a mouse-click away, ZZ Wink In any case, the council run a "call a bus" service if you're a can't/won't drive OAP.

However, it's also a tad on the large size. Five rooms (including a bedroom and big games-room) plus 2 bathrooms, kitchen and conservatory on the ground floor, and 4 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

To be honest, I hate to sell but I have no use for it, albeit HI likes having a UK bolt-hole, just in case. Very Happy

That doesn't tell me how far the supermarkets are. The 'call a bus' service sounds okay but the mouse-click doesn't. I've seen staff picking out goods for home delivery and that wouldn't suit me. I don't even like people I know getting shopping for me, I like to pick out what I want.
It certainly does sound too big for one person. I've got a very big house here and I wanted to downsize, unfortunately I seem to be attracted to bigger properties , I particularly like a decent size kitchen.

That is some size bolt-hole!

For ZZ, this might help with the Estate Agent Jargon, but I am sure you know all of it anyway.

Sorry Seedy, it didn't interest me and I don't see why it would.
Granted this may happen at some time in the future but I doubt it would be in my life time.
I get some people like to shop like this, I don't. I like to go to the supermarkets and I like to pay in cash. I know this is old fashioned now but that's just me.

"Cash"? I seem to recall my grandmother talking about that but I thought it was just a fairy-story.... Wink

Sadly, the march of "Progress" seems to require us to either fall in step or get trampled underfoot - and IoT is both already here and expanding day-by-day. I'm afraid you have my wife and her colleagues to thank/blame for it!

Another thing that will no doubt surprise you, I have never used an ATM. Because of skimming etc. I would just rather not take the chance.
Many years ago my UK bank decided the first £300 of any withdrawal must be taken from the ATM, anything over that at the counter. I refused to use the ATM and was still able to make a withdrawal at the counter.

Getting back to estate agent speak, someone sent me this through. Maybe I should try whatever he is on. Laughing
